Well, after many years here finally is a plant many of us have been waiting for. When this is blooming in my garden everyone wants it but it has not been available for at least 5 years. Some visitors call it the firecracker plant. The blooms are astounding. Brilliant red, slender trumpet shaped with a vivid yellow, star-shaped top and throat. Compact plant with dark green foliage. Blooms almost all summer beginning towards the end of June. Loved by hummingbirds. Best grown in part to full shade, in well-drained soil. (18-20")
