Prairie Coneflower, Drooping Coneflower
Zone 3
Sun-loving native perennial which is the dwarf version of the species. Fun and quirky blooms have a tall, prominant, green cone which slowly turns brown. Encircled by drooping red and yellow petals. This is a seed grown variety so there will be some variation in the flowers. Blooms in late summer and into the fall. A very durable perennial, exceptionally hardy, drought and heat tolerant once established. Best grown in full sun and average to dry well-drained soil. Attractive to butterflies and pollinators. Great companion to ornamental grasses.
