Virginia Mountain Mint
Zone 3
This well-branched, upright native is a magnet for pollinators, butterflies and hummingbirds. Spearmint scented foliage is set with clusters of white flowers which produce copious amounts of nectar. Long flowering from late July through to September. Best grown in partial sun and average to moist, well-drained soil however tolerant of less than ideal condition. This is a spreading plant and a great choice for naturalizing. However it is not as aggressive as most other members of the mint family. Prevent excessive spreading by removing seed heads.
