Small, slow growing tree with glorious deep purple-red foliage colour from spring right into the fall. Rounded, dense form. An improved version of the classic 'Bloodgood'. Highly ornamental grown as an accenting specimen. Best grown in full sun (or lightly shaded afternoon) and fertile, well-drained soil. Prune mid-summer. Benefits from a good mulch but do not heap the mulch against the trunk which can be deadly.
