Blue Giant Hyssop

This wonderfully aromatic perennial is native to Ontario. It's scent is reminiscent of licorice or aniseed. Excellent, upright, clumping form producing tall, dense spikes of lavender-purple flowers with violet bracts. Long flowering from July into September. It is a favourite of bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. In the winter it is very popular with chickadees, sparrow and junco who love the tiny black seeds. This is an easy perennial for full sun to partial shade and ordinary garden soil. HEIGHT: 100-125 cm SPREAD: 70-90 cm
