A lovely climber with great twining action. Great for a chain link fence or lattice surface. Can also be easily trained up a pole or along a cedar rail fence. Brownish-purple (chocolate?) flowers with a pleasant, spicy fragrance in early summer followed by a large, purple fruit pod. Takes a season or so to establish but then is quite vigorous. For sun to part shade in average garden soil. Prune regularly to control size. HEIGHT: 8-10 m SPREAD: 3 m
