Native to Ontario. Hardy shrub or small tree with multi-season ornamentation and interest. It produces masses of fragrant, white flowers in the spring followed by sweet, black-purple fruit which is good to eat -- or you can make jam or jelly. Grey green foliage turns brilliant yellow and red in the fall. Upright, mounding form which can easily be trained into a small tree. Very easy to grow in full sun to partial shade and tolerates a wide variety of soils. Drought tolerant once established. A Xeriscape plant. Great for attracting birds to the garden. Useful as a specimen or even as a hedge. Prune after flowering. A great way to attract birds to your garden. HEIGHT: 5-6 m SPREAD: 3-4 m
