Red Chokeberry
Zone 5
This large Ontario native shrub will put on a show from spring into the fall. Plus it is attractive to birds, pollinators and butterflies. In May it is covered with fragrant white flowers which are followed by glossy red berries which persist for a long time. In the fall the lustrous green foliage turns a brilliant red. Easily grown in sun to part shade and tolerant of a wide variety of soil conditions. Drought tolerant once established. A great choice to create a screen or for naturalizing.
