Calico Aster

Bushy perennial with purplish-black foliage which looks attractive even when it's not flowering. Produces masses of tiny white flowers with raspberry centres in late summer. A plant of lovely contrasts. Loved by butterflies and makes a good cut flower. This Aster grows best in full sun and handles many soil types. It is quite drought tolerant once established. Although Aster latifolius stands up well in the garden it is advisable to prune 1/3 of the top growth early summer. This will encourage new foliage (branching) and will produce thousands of tiny blooms per plant. HEIGHT: 60-90 cm SPREAD: 50-60 cm
