Vigorous, compact perennial with dark green, lacy foliage. Set with sturdy, upright spikes bearing deep red buds which open to dark maroon flowers. Best grown in part to full shade in consistantly moist soil. Chinese Astilbe generally are more sun tolerating and require less water. HEIGHT: 65-70 cm SPREAD: 30-40 cm
