Forms a dense cushion of felty foliage smothered with brilliant blooms in mid-spring. This seed grown strain produces larger flowers ranging in colour from magenta to rosy-red with a tiny yellow eye. It is the perfect companion for spring bulbs and primroses. This easy to grow perennial can be used in the rock garden, border or along a pathway. It is not too fussy on its location -- sun to part shade in any good garden soil. Cut it back hard after flowering to restore its good looks. (6-8")
