Mosquito Grass
Zone 4
Low growing grass that forms a tuft of finely textured, blue-green leaves. In mid-summer produces chartreuse flowers that age to blonde. Interesting seed heads that are at right angles to the stem form in late summer and are attractive to birds.
This is a warm season grass which is slow to get started in the spring. However once established it is very tolerant of heat, humidity and drought. Best grown in full sun to light shade and tolerates a wide variety of soil condition however it does not like wet, poorly drained sites. HEIGHT: 50-60 cm SPREAD; 25-30 cm
