Tall, upright, vase-shaped, woody sub-shrub with lovely, fragrant, cone-shaped blooms which are deep reddish-purple. Blooms late summer to early fall. An outstanding plant to attract butterflies. Cut back to 20-30 cm from the ground in the spring. Very late to leaf out so do not give up too early. Best in sun to part shade, in well drained soil. HEIGHT: 150-200 m SPREAD: 120-150 m
