Blue Cohosh
Zone 3
This bushy Native is multi-stemmed bearing, attractive, blue-green, meadowrue-like foliage. It produces clusters of yellowish-green flowers in the early spring followed by berry-like seeds which turn an amazing true blue as they age. The seeds are held above the foliage and provide a long interest well into the fall. Blue Cohosh is a woodland plant best grown in a shady location and rich, humusy, moist soil. Note it is slow to establish and best not moved once it is mature. HEIGHT: 45-70 cm SPREAD: 50-60 cm
