New Jersey Tea
Zone 4
A dense, compact, rounded shrub with tiny, fragant, white flowers in late spring and early summer. Medium dark green leaves are grey and hairy on the underside. This creates an interesting shimmer effect particularly when there is a breeze. Yellow twigs in the winter. Dried leaves have been used as a tea substitute. Easily to grow in full sun to partial shade and tolerates a wide variety of soils. Drought tolerant once established. A Xeriscape plant. Great for attracting birds to the garden.
