Classic ornamental tree native to Ontario and other parts of Canada. In the spring branches are covered with masses of brilliant magenta-pink flowers before the foliage emerges. Blue-green leaves are very attractive heart-shaped and will turn yellow in the fall. Can be grown as a shrub or trained into a tree.
Easily to grow in full sun to partial shade and tolerates a wide variety of soils other than wet. Drought tolerant once established. Prune after flowering. Slow growing. HEIGHT: 8-10 m SPREAD: 7-8 m
