Produces huge, 20 cm blooms which are purple-blue with a lighter central bar and contrasting deep red stamens. Undersides of petals are a silvery-white. Flowers June to July and again in September.
Prune in early spring, by removing all dead and weak stems, and also to the first top plump green buds which could be anywhere from 2-30 centimeters from tips. Plants can be pruned to about 60cm after first bloom for a new foliage flush, but no second bloom will occur. HEIGHT: 2-4 m SPREAD: 2-3 m
