Bunchberry
Zone 2 - 9
Lovely native groundcover. Each plant produces a circle of bright green, oval, pointed and deeply veined leaves which are set with a single, large white flower in late spring and early summer. After flowering red berries appear in mid-summer, which are edible and loved by birds and animals. In the fall the foliage turns bronzy-red. Bunchberry is a slow spreader via underground runners or seeds. It is best grown in moist to average acidic soil in full to partial shade. HEIGHT: 10-15 cm SPREAD: 20-30 cm
