American Hazelnut

Small, ornamental tree which is native to Ontario. Upright, rounded form with textured green leaves which turn yellow, orange and red in the fall. From catkins and small red flowers in the spring, produces edible white fruit which turns brown in the summer. Can be grown in sun to partial shade and is tolerant of most soil conditions. A good choice for screening and naturalizing. HEIGHT: 4-5 m SPREAD: 2-3 m
