Tall Bearded Iris
Zone 3 - 9
Gorgeous bicoloured blooms which are slightly fragant. Blue upright standards with icy-blue/white falls. Flowering in May to June. Strong stalks bearing multiple blooms. HEIGHT: 80-90 cm SPREAD: 50-60 cm
Generally these beauties are easy to grow provided a few requirements are met. The bearded Iris prefers a sunny, well-drained situation. Plant the Iris so that the hard tubers are exposed to the sun. Planting too deep may rot the roots or the Iris may not bloom. Iris borer may be a problem. This pest is the result of a night flying moth. Do not plant light coloured Iris near a light source which could attract the moth. Nematodes are availabe to combat Iris borer. Divide the Iris every few years to encourage maximum blooms. Deer and rabbit resistant.
