Encore Maiden Grass

'Encore' was developed to bloom earlier in the season than most varieties of Miscanthus. This grass has an excellent upright form and produces a profusion of large, creamy-white, feather plumes in mid-to-late summer. Depending on the weather it may re-bloom in mid-to-late fall producing another flush of purple plumes.
Cascading foliage is finely textured with a white midrib. Outstanding as a specimen, mass planted or used as screening. Provides great ornamentation in the winter garden. Excellent compact form. HEIGHT: 150-165 cm SPREAD: 140-150 cm
General Information Miscanthus
A wonderful group of grasses. Tall, bold and imposing. Will produce a showy fountain of grassy foliage set with tall, highly ornamental flower plumes later in the season. Provides outstanding architecture and colour from late summer, right through the winter. One of the best winter-interest perennials. Easily grown in sun to part shade, in moist, well drained soil. Once established quite drought tolerant. Makes a great impact as an accent specimen or in a group.
