Fire Dragon Maiden Grass

This large, showy grass has spectacular fall colour -- its cascading summer green foliage transforming to an insense display of fiiery orange and red. In late summer, early fall it is topped with soft, silvery plumes. The scarlet foliage and silver-grey plumes create a dramatic fire and smoke effect. Hardier than most varieties of Miscanthus.
Outstanding as a specimen, mass planted or used as screening. Provides great ornamentation in the winter garden. HEIGHT: 180-215 cm SPREAD: 90-120 cm
General Information Miscanthus
A wonderful group of grasses. Tall, bold and imposing. Will produce a showy fountain of grassy foliage set with tall, highly ornamental flower plumes later in the season. Provides outstanding architecture and colour from late summer, right through the winter. One of the best winter-interest perennials. Easily grown in sun to part shade, in moist, well drained soil. Once established quite drought tolerant. Makes a great impact as an accent specimen or in a group.
