Russian Sage
Zone 4
'Bluesette' is the first and only compact, dwarf form of Russian Sage. It is a sturdy, upright, shrub-like perennial with lovely, aromatic, lacey, silver-gray foliage. Produces masses of violet-blue, fragrant, flower spikes from July to September. Loved by butterflies, pollinators and hummingbirds.
Perovskia prefers average to dry, well-drained soil in full sun. Drought tolerant and dislikes winter wetness. In fall, spent flower spikes can be pruned off for a tidier appearance. Note: Perovskia should not be pruned too far back until new growth emerges in spring. Once new growth appears, prune back no lower than 30cm. HEIGHT: 35-55 cm SPREAD: 40-60 cm
