Jerusalem Sage

An unusual perennial which is rarely offered. Forms a large mound of attractive dark green, textured, heart-shaped foliage. Sturdy, tall, dark brown stalks bear rmauve-pink snapdragon-like flowers arranged uniquely in multiple tiers up the stalk. Flowers from June to August. Attractive to butterflies and hummingbirds. Drought tolerant once established. Prefers full sun and well-drained soil. Note: Although the common name is Jerusalem Sage it is not edible and has no culinary or medicinal uses.
