'Spotty Dotty' is the result of hybridizing several Asian Mayables. Very exotic and unusual. Upright stalks bear large, light green, umbrella-shaped leaves with dramatic chocolate brown spots. Large, dark red flowers resembling bleeding hearts appear under the leaves in the spring. Vigorous woodland plant needs a shady moist location. Requires even summer moisture. Heat and dry conditions will cause the plant to go dormant. Do not plant too deep or they may rot. Patterns and colour of the foliage will be effected by light, temperature and age of the plant.
