Ontario native and much loved as a harbringer of spring. Soft, woolly, silver buds appear before the foliage. Great for cutting. Buds open to creamy-yellow catkins. Medium green leaves have a soft, downy, grey-white underside. Easily grown in moist, marshy soil but also tolerant of drier conditions. Prefers full sun. Prune to desired size and shape. Height: 5-6 m Spread: 125-150 cm
