Schizachyrium scoparium and its cultivars have been named the Perennial Plant of the Year 2022.
This is a refined version of the native cultivar. It is a sturdy plant that maintains an excellent upright form throughout the season. Powder-blue stems stand upright like the bristles on a paint brush turning wine-red in early fall. Adorned with contrasting silvery seed heads late summer and into the fall. Easily grown in full sun and average to dry soil. Drought tolerant once established. HEIGHT: 80-90 cm SPREAD: 55-65 cm
