Schizachyrium scoparium and its cultivars have been named the Perennial Plant of the Year 2022. A showy multi-coloured smaller grass with excellent compact form. Narrow upright foliage is variegated green and white in the spring and early summer transforming to pink and purple in late summer. Dark burgundy-red flowers emerge in the fall and remain showy throughout the winter. It is a sturdy plant that maintains an excellent upright form throughout the season. Easily grown in full sun and average to dry soil. Drought tolerant once established. HEIGHT: 45-60 cm SPREAD: 20-30 cm
