Tall vase-shaped perennial with strong, upright stems covered with masses of golden-yellow flowers which shoot out in many directions -- like a fireworks display. Robust and disease resistant. Puts on a great show in late summer and into the fall. Loved by bees and butterflies. Outstanding cut flower. HEIGHT: 90-100 cm SPREAD:60-70 cm
European produced hybrids are much better behaved than our wild forms of goldenrod. These new forms are prized by florists for their superior and very showy cut flowers. Goldenrod are valuble for their brillirant late season colour. They do not cause hay fever as their pollen is too heavy to be airborn -- the real culprit is ragweed which blooms at the same time.
