Stoke's Aster
Zone 5
This perennial is named after the woman who discovered it -- Peachie Saxton. It produces masses of large, fringed and frilly, lavender flowers which are held upright on dark, sturdy stems. This variety blooms longer and later than other varieties. Attractive, bushy, lance-like foliage. Very long flowering from mid-summer into mid-fall (if deadheaded). A great cut flower and attractive to butterflies. Best grown in full sun, in any reasonable, well-drained garden soil. Drought tolerant once established. This lovely, heat tolerant perennial is the perfect choice for our extreme temperature summer gardens. HEIGHT: 45-50 cm Spread: 45-60 cm
