The toughest and hardiest thyme. A very durable plant. Once established it is exceptionally drought tolerant, will take considerable foot traffic and can even be mowed. It is an excellent lawn substitute. For sun to part shade in almost any (except soggy) soil. Mauve to purple flowers later in the season. Vigorous. They don't call it Mother for nothing! General Information Thyme
Thymes are indispensable ornamentals for the rock garden, borders, along pathways, in containers or as groundcover. These low growing, aromatic perennials generally prefer a sunny location, in average, well-drained garden soil.
