This native plant makes an excellent groundcover for shady, wooded sites. Attractive heart-or-maple shaped leaves which are flushed with bronze-red in the spring and fall. Covered with masses of short pink flower spikes in early-to-mid spring. Very hardy and vigorous. Spreading via trailing stolons. Can also be useful in container gardens. Prefers average to consistently moist, well-drained soils in full shade to part shade. Will tolerate a wide range of soil conditions but protect from excessive winter moisture. Trim flowers back when finished to maintain compact habit. Deer and rabbit resistant. Low maintenance. HEIGHT: 15-30 cm 30 cm SPREAD: 40-50 cm
